SEVERE DAMAGE AT YAP By Telegrttfi.—Pros* Tokio, Dec. 20. A naval wireless message from. Yap reports that' a severe earthquake, followed by a sefrojre storm, destroyed most of the buildings on the island. The gale prevailing on the 16th developed hurricane strength on the 17th, unroofing public structures and severely damaging practically every house. There were no casualties, through the entire population seeking safety out of doors. Received Dec. 22, 5.5 p.m. Tolcio, Dec. 21. Two men and a woman were killed by the Yap earthquake, and much stock was destroyed. The Japanese Government is sending relief, and is erecting temporary barracks for the homeless.— Renter Service. [Yap is one of the Caroline Islands, south of Japan, Cast of the Philippines.]
