GAMBLING IN WHEAT.
INVOLVES ECONOMIC WASTE. By Telegraph.—Press Assn—Copyright. Received Dec. 21, 8.5 p.m. Washington, Dec. 20. The Federal Trade Commission has advised President Wilson that he has no power to prevent the importation of foreign wheat, as demanded by farmers ;hit by falling prices. The Commission's 'report says a large volume of future wheat trading is mere gambling, involving great economic waste, and it recommends that it be stopped by Congressional regulation.—Aus. and N.Z.
