Splendid acceptances have been received, for the first day's events at the Taranaki Jockey Club's Christmas meeting, and a successful meeting is therefore assured. Ttere were Bve defections from the Christmas Handicap, in which ten remain, whilst in the Flying there were only two withdrawals, leaving eleven acceptors.
