RIFLE SHOOTING.
DOMINION IiIFLE ASSOCIATION. It was officially announoed recently by the Commonwealth Council of Rifle Aaapclatlons of Australia, that a representative Australian tenim of riflemen would Tlalt New 1 Zealand and compete at the D B.A. mattim at Trentham In March next. The team i# due 10 arrive In Now Zealand about the end ot February, and compete at the WMranp* Association Meeting at Qraytown, tfhlffl Is iield just prior to tie Dominion meeting. It la also expected that an additional taenty ■riflemen .from Australia will make the trip and compete at Trentlam. The D.It.A. Executive, in anticipation of the visit, have put on some additional matches with llber&l prize money, and fram the interest already eveked the meeting next March should easily be i> Tecord for New Zealand so far as tho number of entries Is concerned. Arrangements for the meeting are well advanced, and a most enjoyable and auccesifut competition is confidently expected. Whilst In Australia as Commander of the N.Z. rifle team which competed at the New South Wales and Victorian Blfle Association meetings, Major Dunne tad a splendid opportunity of studying 'the administrative methods adopted in both States iri carrying out their fixtures, and whilst of the opinion that the Dominion working is the heat In the main, there were minor matters that could well be adopted which will tend to further the interests of riflemen and conduce to tbe Improvement of ou* N.Z. meeting The N.Z. programme for the annual meeting In March nsxt compares favorably with >uslra. lUn flvmrej.
