WANTON DAMAGE AT PUIvEMIRO. By Tdfegraph.—Preys Association. Auckland, Last Night. A determined attempt to seriously damage the plant at the Pukcmiro coal mine was recently made. During th; week end, between noon on Saturday, November 27, and the following Monda'y morning, the weigh-bridge iiou.se was j broken into and the weigh-bridge greatly damaged. Apparently the intention was to put the machine out of action," but this was not accomplished. The company is offering a reward of £IOO for information that will lead to conviction. NEW BANKING REGULATIONS. Wellington, Last Night. Amending rgeluations under the Finance Act, Ifllfi, are published in the Gazette to-night. They extend the limit of the bank note issue of the banks by adding to the total amount of all coin, bullion and public securities held by each bank {including the amount of all war loan advances as defined in the Act), the amount of all wool advances the bank, and from time to time outstanding. The term "wool advances" means sucli advances on wool as a bank may make on separate accounted) To producers with or Without- Government guarantee, or {i) to approved mercantile houses whose ordinary business includes advances against wool.
