PLUNKET SOCIETY.
The ordinary monthly meeting was held on Monday afternoon, Mrs. Burgess presiding. The resignation of Mrs. T. A. Bailey from the committee was accepted with regret. It was decided that the Plunket Rooms should be closed during Nurse Petersen's absence on leave, from December 24 to January 3.
The secretary was instructed to purchase 200 leaflets on "Child Welfare" for distribution amongst the mothers attending the rooms. These leaflets, which are adapted and modified from the U.S.A. children's bureau leaflet, are issued by the Central Council, and contain about fifty items of information helpful to par. ents.
The next meeting of the committee will be held on the second Monday in February. The committee wish to thank all those who kindly helped with' the baby contest, and the baby fete, and also the following for donations: Mr. and Mrs. Holswicli, 10s; Mr. and Mrs. liarthorpe, S3; Mr. and Mrs. W. Tiio nurse reported:—Number of old baliies on the list, 105; new babies for tlie .month 1,1, of which 4 were breast fed, 5 supplemented, and 4 artificially fed. Visits paid to homes, old cases 11(5, new eases 49; visits received at office, adults 227, babies 193; advice to expectant mothers I); milk made in homes, V. Letters answered 2. One demonstration of making of humanized milk.
