It is now btated that Granville wa« married, his wife residing in Nelson. Thorn worked for Granville after leaving Eyre's farm, for six weeks bv fore the murder occurred. Granville was an important witness at Thorn'! trial on the question as to the identity - I of otic of his horses.
Granville left a letter addressed tt oh solicitor. Financial difficulties art said to have been the cause of his «si< cide. Ho had also been drhfjdgj heavily.
Mr. Singor, counsel for Thorn, brought the fact of Granville's suicide under th< notice of the Executive Council, waiei) meets here to-day to consider the &en> tenee passed on TJiom.
