The annual meeting of the Women's Christian Temperance Union was held in the i Whitelcy Hall 011 Wednesday, Bth inst, Mrs. Griffin being in the chair. Reports from unions were read and showed good work was being done. Two new members were enrolled, and a member from Timaru Was welcomed. A resolution of sympathy was passed with the relatives of the victims of the aeroplane tragedy. ' The election of officers resulted: —President, Mrs: Griffen; recording secretary, Mrs. Dickson; ;:orresponding secretary, Mrs. Jemlson; treasurer, Miss Taunt; superintendent's cradle roll, Miss Ambury; literature and backblocks, Mrs. Gilliver; Maori work, Mrs. Loveridge A cradle roll picnic will be held early in January.
