THE COMPETITIONS. -AY IN NORTH TARANAKI. The Thursday competition in Nortli Taranakl was continilod yesterday under excellent weather conditions. Playing on tie/ Recreation Grounds, New Plymouth, with 183 for five wickets, defeated the Urenui team, whose score was 48. At Tlkorangl, the home team defeated Inglewood on the first innings, by 72 runs. NEW PLYMOUTH v. URENUI. Batting first, New Plymouth made 183 when tl>e innings was declared for five wickets. Nicoll imade 83, not out, and Waller 24, not out. Urenui felt the absence of Blundell and O'Neill In the bowling. On going into bat Urenui were all out for 48 against the bowling of Waller and Dinnlss. Wiley (18), and G. N. Fuller (11) were the principal scorers. Details of tho match are:— NEW PLYMOUTH. England's first was declared closed with nine wickets down for 208 runs. Toowoomba made 62 in tho first Innings and 27 in the second. In the first innings Waddington took 7 wickets for 29 runs.
