LONDON WOOL SALES. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. London, Dec. 7. At the wool sales, 9309 bales were offered, of which 2037 were New Zealand wool. There was a good attendance of Home, Continental and American buyers. About 2000 bales were sold at Government reserves which bad not changed. Tlio wool sojd \s considered to be odd lots bought for' urgent requirements. Prices offered for unsold, lots were 10 to 20 per cent, below November "s'i(les. The New Zealand Loan ti|iid Mercantile Agency Co. Stratford, have received tbe following cablegram -from their London house: "London Wool sales opened 7th' Inst. About 25 per cent. sold. Superfine merino : not offered. Medium merino and fine- crossbred are 10 to 15 per cent. lower; medium crossbred when sold, unchanged. Nodemind for coarse crostaed." AUSTRALIAN BILL RATES London, Dec. t. The Associated Australian banks announce that from Friday the rate of negotiating bills on Australia will bo 70s per cent.- at sight, and an additional 12s 6d for each 30 days. The rate of cable transfers on Australia will be reduced from par to ,20s' per cent, discount, AUSTRALIAN WOOL SALES. Sydney, Dec. 8. Though the lower classes of wool continue to drag, finer sorts of greasy command teen competition and high prices. Another record was established at 40% d. Perth, Dec. 8. At the first Westtalian wool sale competition was keen for fine Merinos at about appraisement prices, medium to good 15 to 30 per cent, below the appraisement price for wasty and crossbreds there was no demand and consequently there were heavy withdrawals. Melbourne, Dec. 9. At the wool sales the market continued to show great irregularity. High prices were paid for best lots, 47d for the top lot of Mooraborg, a record for the Melbourne market. There were heavy withdrawals of ordinary wools. The inter-State conference of wool growers, brokers, and fellmongers adopted In Its general features tie Higglns scheme without amendment. The conference subsequently waited on Mr. Hugher and induced him to cable tho Imperial authorities asking them to agree, also appointing the Australia Ariacciatioii sole agents for the sale of Britain's half of the carry-over wool. Mr. Hughes wawnly approved the scheme, and the cablegram was despatched last night. CANADIAN WHEAT FOR AMERICA. Ottawa, Dec. 8. The Canadian wl:oat being shipped to the United States is expected shortly to reach a total of 50 million bushels for the current season. It is understood tho motive Is to dispose of the grain before Congress stops the entrance of foreign -wheat.
