GREEK THRONE.
CQNSTANTINE'S ATTITUDE. PRO-GERMAN COMPLICITY, THE ALLIES' EVIDENCE, Bj Telegrsph.—Treis Assn.—Copyright -ft Beceived Dec. 9, 8.10 p.m. ' London, Dec. 9. It is understood that the British Government is prepared to furnish a mass of documentary evidence to prove Constantine's pro-German complicity' if the Greek Government requests ' the proofs. They can also refute Constan- , tine s assertions in the interview at Lucerne. _ The Allies possess proof that he wag implicated in actual military proceedings, including a massacre of Allied troops at Athens. The evidence can be published the moment the Greek Government asks for it. CONSTANTINE MUST RETURN. FOE POPULAR WELCOME; CAN THEN ABDICATE. Beceived Dec. 9, 3.30 p.m. Athens, Dec. 8. If anarchy can be avoided in Greece, Constantine must return, if only for a time. He is the people's idol, and nothing will satisfy them but a popular welcome to the monarchy. The solution seems to be his subsequent abdication in favor of the Crown Prince. The nation is thoroughly proBritish, but this feeling is bound to change in the event of the continued failure to comprehend the popular mentality.—Beuter Service. BEPOBTED ABDICATION UNCONFIRMED. v London, Dec. 8. Neither the British Government, nor the Greek Legation in London, has received confirmation of the report that the Greek Government has asked Constantine to abdicate. Both quarters are sceptical of the truth of the report.
