The grain olitl produce market U stagnant, and as hardly any business at all has passed this week It is not possible to quote actual prices. BURN9IDE STOCK SALES. Dtmedta. December 1. At the Burnslde stock sales to-day sheep were in somewhat short supply, and an advance hi prices resulted. Lambs were also dearer. Pat cattle were In good supply, and met with a fair demand. Pigs also were !n full supply, and the higl'i rales which have been ruling were not maintained. Sheep.—Only 1011 sheep wore offered. Owing to the small number there was a keen demand, and prices advanced Is to Is lid per head above last week's rates. , Prime woolly wethers realised 48s Gd'to 50s, medium 42s 0d to 475, lighter kinds from 30s upwards. Prime woolly ewes brought 44s 9d to 49s Gd, medium 39s to 435, light arid aged 30s upwards. Prime shorn wethers were sold :it from 44s to 48s; medium, 38b to 435; light and unfinished, from 32s fid upwards. Prime shorn ewes brought from' 41s to 48s 3d; medium, 3(!s to 40s; light and aged, from 28s upwards. Spring Lambs.—A good yarding of 101. There was an excellent demand, values being on a par with last week's rates. The prices ranged from 25s to 38s per head. Pat Cattle.—A yarding of 200 head of fair quality. At the beginning of the sale values were practically on a par with last week's rates. Prime bullocks brought from £2O to £23 10s; medium, £l7 10s to £l9 10s; light and unfinished, £l4 10s upwards. Prime heifers realised £l7 10s to £2O 10s; medium, £l4 to £lO 10s t light and aged, £lO 10s upwards. Storo Cattle.—There was again a large yarding of stores. The quality on the whole allowed an improvement oh late jordings. The demand was slack, and a further reduction on last week's rates resulted. Dairy cows, however, were in good demand, and realised full rates. Pigs.—A large yarding. Competition was less animated, and lower prices had to be accepted. Best haconers brought from 10% d to ll%d per lb; best porkers, from Is osd to Is 2d per lb. Store pigs and suckers sold under keen competition at an advance on late rates. ALDINGTON MARKET. Christclurch, Dec. 2. At Addlngton market to-day the yarding was smaller In most sections, and values showed little alteration from "last week's, with the exception of lambs, tho small entry ol which resulted in big prices being obtained. There was a good entry of store sheep, and a sluggish sale, the sheep sold being on a. lower basis than last Week. Pour, six and eight-tooth wethers, 24s to 26s 3d; good forward wethers, 27s to 28s Id; superior to medium two-tooth wethers, SOs to 23s Id; forwiird two-tooth wethers, 26s to 275; fairly good mixed sex two-tooths, "4s 8d; four-tooth dry ewes, 21s 3d to 25s 4d; mixed ewes and lambs (all counted), 20s 6d; four-tooth ditto, 23s lid. Tho sales were all of shorn sheep. There was a yarding of 241 fat lambs, compared with about 800 last week. Prices jumped substantially. Extra prime lambs, 39s to 45s Gd; prime lambs, 33s to 38s Id; medium, 2Ss Od to 32s Od; inferior, 25s 6d to 28s Id. There . was a slightly smaller yarding of fat sheep than usual, and n fluctuating sale, values being easier, it anything, than last week. Prime wethers and ewes brought 00s and 52s 9d respectively; prime wethers, 30s to 42s 6d; medium, 30s to 35s Od; prime ewes' 313 9d to 30s; medium, 27s to 31s. Quotations are for shorn sheep. About 300 fat cattle were yarded, and last week's values were fairly well maintained, allhdugh an casing was apparent. Extra prime steers, to £34 15s; prlnje steers, £24 to £3O; medium steers, £lO 'to £IG 10s; prime beefers, £lO to £l7; medium, £l4 to £ls 15s; prime cows, £lB to £l9 2s Gd; ordinary, £l2 to £ls ss; lighter, £9 to £ll 12s od. Vealer prices were on a par with last week. Runners, £8; good vealers, £8 2s 6d; medium, £4 15s; inferior, 10s to 455. Store cattle provided a full market with numerous passings. Two-year steers, to £9; cows, £0 7s Od; bulls, £11; poor-conditioned yearling steers, 455. There was a big entry of dairy cattle, and an average demand. Good three-year heifers, £2l; good cows, £ls; Inferior, £9. There was a big entry of fat pigs, and anything but keen demand. Choppers, £G to £9; ligl-t baconers, £5 5s to £5 15s; heavy haconers, £0 to £7; extra heavy, £8 12s (average price per lb lOd to 10>/ t d); light porkers, £3 10s to £4; heavy porkers, £4 10s to £5 (average price per lb, lo%d toH%il).' Store pigs were in very moderate demand, particularly anything not in condition. Medium stores, £4 12s; weaners, £4 9s 6d; sows in pig, £9 10s to £l4 3s Od.
