At a largely-attended meeting at Patea on Friday, it was decided to Te-insUte the Patea Racing Club. It was stated the secretary of the Racing Club Commission, in reply to tho committee's application for a permit had stated that it would be referred to the Commission, and considered in due course. The question of ft new course will be a imatter for the committee, comprise.* Messrs. Paterson, Bea'ey, A, T. Christensen, S. Mcßae, and MciCenna. Mr. R. W. Jlamertori was appointed secretary It was stated there would be no difficulty in acquiring the old course on the former terms. STRATFORD R.C. ANNUAL MEETING. ENTRIES CLOSE TO-NIGHT. Horse owner? and trainers are reminded that entries for all events at the abore meeting close to-niffht at 9 p.m. The abridged programme, which appears in this issue, shows that good stakes are offered all round, the Cup being worth £ TOO, the Mf.lone Memorial Handicap £SOO, the Doiu> las Handicap £350, and the Ngaere Handicap £3OO. Jn addition, good stakes are offered for hack hurdlers, and flat performers. Those interested should note that the Stratford telegraph office closes at 8 p.m.
