1 DOMINION CONFERENCE. jjy Telegraph.—Press Association. Timaru, Dec. 3. The Waterside Federation Conference adopted the reports of the secretary and president- and the balance-sheet. The report on tne New Zealand Transport Worker was considered, and the hope was expressed that the Affiance of Labor would undertake a daily Labor paper immediately. Committees were set up to report on coal, docks, slips, weight and constitution of slings, and finance. It was unanimously agreed that organisation work be undertaken immediately to form a Council of Action such as that recently formed in Great Britain, and that an understanding between the two councils be arrived at. • ONE BIG UNION. Wellington, Dec. 4. Mr. 0. Grayndler, general secretary of the New Zealand Workers' Unien, lias received a telegram from Auckland stating that the Auckland General Laborers' Unioi), comprising QTer 5000 members, took a ballot on the question of joining the New Zealand Workers' Union, otherwise known as the One Big Union movement. The result of the ballot was almost unanimous in favor of joining.
