JT is hereby notified for public information that it is proposed to make inquiries during the recess with a view to revising the Customs TurilT during the session of 1!)21. All persons nuking contracts for the delivery of imported goods either subject to duty or which may be'ome subject to duty, should protect' themselves cither (1) by introducing therein a clause Governing possible change of duty, or (af by giving immediate notice where contract's are already in force, or. where there are running contracts, that, in tl, o event of alteration of the duty, the provisions of Section]; 10 of the Customs Act, 1913 must apply. ' ' It is proposed to amend this Section to cover alteration not only in the liability of goods to duty or the rate ofduty, but also in the amount of duty.
