NO BRITISH TRUSTS. SPREAD OF AMERICAN CONCERNS. ■ 9f Assn.—Copyright Received Dec. 3, 8.30 pan. London, Dec. 2. The report of the committee inquiring into the alleged activities of trusts in connection -with meat says there is no evidence of temporary or permanent combinations affecting home-grown or imported meat from the Dominions, but the report points out that American companies hare acquired an increased •hare in British trade, and this development should be watched. The committee points out Britain's dependence on Sooth America for imported beef, -which is large., controlled by Ameiican companies, and recommends tile Government to adopt a policy which will prevent foreign, interests from acquiring a larger share in the beef trade. It further recommends that any antitrust legislation should provide against co-operation and tacit understandings, which the committee believes exist among American companies. The committee supports the policy of fostering the Empire's production, and lays the Empire can be eaaUy selfsupporting in mutton and lamb.—Aus.NA Cable Asm.
