NO SENSATIONAL COLLAPSE. FAIR PROSPECT OF RECOVERY. By Telegraph.—Press AiMclitlon Wellington, Last Night. The British Trade Commissioner, Mr. R. W. Dalton, has been ju cable cofllmuniration with the Department of Overseas Trade-in London with a view £o Beeuring oflieial information regarding the economic conditions in the United Kingdom. A cablegram, that reached him to-day describes the situation briefly; "Deliatiou and credit restrictions at Home, combined with the temporarily congested state of the markets abroad, have stopped the extension of trade expert-' enced early this year." It also state*: "Unemployment has increased gradually. Dull conditions are likely to last for a few months without any sensational collapse, and with a fair prospect of recovery next year,"
