THE EYRE MURDER.
THE RE-TRIAL CONTINUED. By Telegraph —Press Association. Auckland, Last Night. The second trial of Samuel John Thorn, charged with committing the Pnkekawa murder, was continued today, when further evidence on the lines of that given at the previous trial was heard. Some discussion ensued on the request of counsel for the accused for an experiment to show the result that would follow from firing off a No. 7 Peters cartridge from the accused's gun. It was pointed out that the atmosphere and other conditions would not be the same as om the night of the tragedy. Eventually the Judge said that latei on, if the jury wished it, they could ask for the experiment. The ease was adjourned.
