DESTRUCTION OP CALVES ILLEGAL. In many European countries the destruction of calves—especially heifer calves—is illegal. In this country, where plenty of foodstuffs abound, it should be made illegal too. The calves of to-day will be valuable yearlings next season, yet annually thousands of potentially valuable animals are wantonly killed. Ceremilk will yield vigorous, healthy calves, and any dairy farmer knows that fhe price of good dairy cows is going to increase far beyond the cost of rearing a calf. One 1001b bag of Cere>milk, costing 295, will rear four calves past the milk food stage. There is no better preparation on the market so far as food value, ease of preparation, and safety are concerned. Cere-milk is cheaper in the end than any inferior substitute.
