PRESBYTERIAN ASSEMBLY.
VOTES OF THANKS. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Nov. 24. The Presbyterian Assembly heartily thanked the Rev. W. E. Todd for the fine services rendered by him to the Church as convenor of the Youth Committee. The Rev. W. Shirer was thanked for his* work as convener of the Chaplin's Committee. The report of the Beneficiary Fund Committee was adopted. The report stated that the credit-balance on August 18, 1919, was £123,520. The income for the year had been £13,050, and the expenditure £7977. The capital now stood at £128,592. At September, 1920, the number of contributors was: To the combined fund 200, to the aged and infirm ministerial fund 14, to the widows and orphans fund S. THE BENEFICIARY FUND. The Wom«n's Beneficiary Fund Committee reported that additions to the fund from all sources during the year amounted to £603, and the fund now stands at £1172 14s 9d. There are ten members of the fund, six being connected with the Mission in China, and four with the Mission in India. Of £2OOO required to be provided by donations and bequests, only a little over £9OO has been received. The full amount is absolutely necessary to give the fund a fair start. The report was adopted. The Assembly considered four overtures from Presbyteries regarding the status of home missionaries, and ask- . tag that they be given a seat and a vote in the Presbyteries. The matter Iwm referred to a special committee to I confer with Presbyteries and report to i the next, Assembly. The proceedings then concluded with the usual votes of thanks.
