THE ARBITRATION COURT.
COST OF LIVING BONUSES. A sitting of the Arbitration Court will be held at New Plymouth to-day. Mr. Justice Stringer will preside, and the other members avo Mr. Scott (employers' representative), and Mr. MeCuiiough (employees' representative). Applications for the cost of living bonus have been filed by the following unions: New Plymouth Motor and Horse Drivers' Union; Taranaki Bakers' and Pastrycooks' Union; Croccrs' Assistants' Union; Tailors' and Tailoresseß? Union; Ca.rpentiers' and Joiners' Union; and the Federated Furniture Trade Workers' Union, the latter also applying to have certain parties added to the award. The Employers' Association has lodged objections to the claims in respect to the tirocers' Union, the Motor Drivers' Union and the Furniture Trade Workers' Union. Three compensation claims, under the Workers' Compensation Act, are set down for heaving—Simpson v. fieary {iiid others, .C3TS; Renwick v. Sorensoii, an unnamed sum, and Buckley v. Hobson, £l-I.') and compensation.
