Good sorts declined 5 per cent., Inferior 10 per cart. WEEKLY REPORT. The N.Z. Loan and Mercantile Agency Co (Hawera) branch report as follows: On Monday, at Opunake, we had a good yarding, and bidding was brisk, especially with dairy cattle. Wo quote: Sloro pigs (Bir.all) 255, store cows to £0 Gs, others to , £1 14s, empty heifers two years, mostly Jersey cross £9 2s Gd, others to £6 15s, Jersey maiden 2-year bulls to 30s gns., 15raontlis steers £.l 12s to £5 Is, springing heifers (medium sorts) £lO to £ls 10s. At Manaia, on Tuesday, we quote: Forward cows to £lO, store cows to £5 10s, bulls to £l4 10s. On Friday, at Palmer Road, we had a good yarding. We quitted ire whole of the store cattle at late rates, but bidding wis not brisk j,n the dairy pens. We quote: Fat and forward cows to £lO 18s, fresh conditioned ditto to £7 18s, others at market value, 2-year steers £5 10s, miaiden heifers to £7 10s, maiden Jersey cross bull £l2, yearling Jersey heifers to £8 16s, others ' £3 15s, springing heifers to £l4, cows to I £ls, store pigs (small) 275. ADDINGTON STOCK MARKET. ' Christchurch, Nov. 17. There was a big yarding at Addlngton to-day, and a drop in prices both in beef and mutton. , Store Sheep.—A very small yarding, mostlyhoggets ana ewes and lambs, which, the wool outlook notwithstanding, practically maintained recent values. Sound-mouthed ewes and lambs (all counted) made 21s Od to 22s lOd, sound and failing-mouftied ewes and lambs (all counted) 20s 6d to 21s, aged and inferior ewes and lambs (all counted) 14s id to 15s Gd, 4-tooth dfy ewes 20s 3d, 2, 4, 0, and 8-tootr dry ewes 22s 4(1, aged dry ewes 15s Gd. fairly good wether hoggets 26s 5d to 26s 7d, good mixed sex hoggets 27s 6d, Inferior mixed sex hoggets 20s 3d to 21s lOd, cull mixed sex hoggets 17s to ljs ]od, good mixed sex shorn hoggets 255, 2 and 4-tooth wethers 27a lOd, 4 and G-tooth halfbred wethers 33s lOd. Nearly 300 lambs were penned, and they sold strongly. Values ranged from 30s to 44s for a few specially prime sorts. Fat Sheep.—The market opened at satisfactory rates, but half way through tl:e sale the demand eased, and towards the finish I lines were difficult to sell. There was a drop j of 4s per head between the commencement and the end of the market. A large yarding of store, cattle came forward. Bidding locked spirit, although there were imany good quality animals offered. A further reduction in values tool; place, and in a number of cases prices failed to reach the vendors' reserve. There was a good yarding of. sheep, fair quality numbering 203G head. There was an Increased percentage of shorn sheep forward, and competition relatively was better for these than for those in wool. There was a ; reduction on last week's high prices, but ' values were about Is per head in advance t of those which ruled a fortnight ago. Extra ; prime heavyweight woolly wethers realised ) from Gss to 70s 9d, prime 52s to G2s, medium 4Gs to 51s. light and unfinished sorts ' from 42s upwards.
