STRATFORD SPRING SHOW.
THE WEEK'S FIXTURE. Sliv.tford is to he congratulated on its tool! fortune lu being visited by Lord .lellicoa on the day in tlio year which is looked upon as Taranaki's Day. That a large croud will nltind from ail over and beyond tie district goes without ayyinu■ Tlie .opportunity of seeing the man who held tlie keys of the Empire has not occurred before, and the events with which Lord Jelllcoc'a name will always be associated in history are too green In the public mind not to excite great interest in so prominent a personality. It is particularly gratifying to know that His Excellency will have the opportunity of witnessing such a splendid display of Taranaki's mainstays, and It is- loped that the eleinc.its will complete an otherwise assured success. The show, apart from the interests It holds out to farmers, will provide amusement to both young and old alike, trade displays acquiring much larger spare than on former occasions, whilst side shows, circuses, etc., have notified their intention'of being present in largely increased numbers. In tlie refreshment department arrangements hare been made to provide tor the largo demand on the railway resources. Visi'tors may rely on having a first-class outing, and would be well advised to take advantage of tl:e special railway excursions advertised elsewhere.
