PRICES IN BRITAIN.
EARLY BREAK PREDICTED. London, Oct, 28. Prominent business men are predicting an early break in practically all prices, except those of foodstuffs, this being due to the fact that consumers are not buying, and that pressure is being exercised by the banks, who are refusing to finance the further holding of stocks. Retailers in a large way of business declare that the summer sales have been disappointing. A noteworthy instance which is evoking great interest is that of a first-class West End tailor, who is disposing of huge slocks of clothes by making to measure five-guinea suits which would recently have cost twelve guineas.
