Tennyson's ''Dream of Fair Women" is known to nearly everyone: The poet represents a man who, reading Chancer'* "Legend of Oood Women" in some old library, falls asleep, and in a dream sees the famous heroines of old legend and history, who pass before him and toll-him their stories of love and war and death and sacrifice. Helen of Troy (Miss Dew), Iphigenia, her victim (Miss D. Bradbury), Cleopatra (Miss D. Watkins), who'ruled in Egypt with beauty and display worthy the Queen of Slieba, .Tcphthah's'daughter (Miss Olive Palmer), who died to save her father's vow, our own English Fair Rosamond (Miss F. Winfield), St. Joan of Are (Miss Bennoch), latest canonised of all the saints—these will all be seen in appropriate costumes, with special music (which Mrs. A. W. Webster is playing) and dances as they recount their tragic tales to the dreamer (Mr. Ethcrington). The second part of the programme on Thursday will consist of" a. concert, with orchestral items by Mrs. Movcrley's orchestra, and songs by Mrs. A.
