LECTURE AT NEW PLYMOUTH. At the Theosophical Hall, New Plymouth, last night Mr. H. Banks, national lecturer for the Theosophical Society in New Zealand, delivered the first of a series of lectures on Theosophy, the subject being: "Has Every Man ;i Chance?" Of the various theories aif life advanced, none offered as adequate a solution of life's perplexities as Theosophy, si Dinned the lecturer, for it demonstrates in its plan of evolution, devised by God for man, that perfect love and justice rules the world, holding tip for every man, no matter how depraved, the certain nlfainment of perfection when the mighty purpose of evolution has been consummated for him. Many lives of endeavor are necessary to this end, in which he gradually learns all the lessons iife can (each by means of the law of action and reaction: meeting the full consequences of all he thought, fell, and did in one life, as character, opportunity, and environment in the next; good or had according to their unselfish or sellish nature, so he learns to avoid the causes of sorrow, and steadily pursues the path of progress.
