BOXING.
THE CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNAMENT. Considering that the fixture had been postponed from Thursday. nig!:t, owing lev the regrettable disaster of that afternoon, and Ihat it was impossible to postpone it later than last night owing to the contestants being in New Plymouth, there was a very good attendance last night, at the boxing tournament held under the auspices of the Taranaki Boxing Association in the Empire Theatre. The programme submitted proved a good one, thougl: there were not as many entries in the amateur championships as were expected. As Mr. Tracey could not remain in New Plymouth, Mr. T. M. Winlkl stepped into tho breach as referee, and acquitted himself very well. Details :
