ENTERTAINMENTS.

EVERYBODY'S A DOUBLE ATTRACTION TO-NIGHT. "Social Ambition" deals with tlw widely divergent iniluence of two women on a man's life; one a society butterfly, his wife, whose onjy rise for her husband is that of universal pro- : vider, aiid who loses 110 time in discarding him when lie meets, through he)extravagance, financial ruin; the other a simple girl of Alaska, who rescues the human derelict and gives him a fresh impulse to live and make good. Howard Hickman and "Rhea Mitchell share the honours! in the roles of Manton and Rose, the dance hall girl. The picture has much entertainment value, is well produced and has some beautiful settings of life in the .gay metropolis and in the frozen white spaces of Alaska, One scone alone is a masterpiece of direction —that in the big dance hall when Manton is beaten lip by the crowd for insulting Rose. Til addition a fine laugh-producer in Larry Semon's ''Grocery Clerk" is presented, and this comedy quite takes the palm of all those of recent times. Tt is a chaos of hilarity, and judging by the roars of delighted laughter, the antics and misfortunes of Larry must be humorous indeed. The screening nights are tonight and tomorrow at Everybody's. THE PEOPLE'S LAST NIGHT OF SHIRLEY MASON. Miss Shirley Mason will leave the People's Theatre after to-night's performance of "Molly and I," William Fox's screen version of Frank R. Adams' successful novel "Molly and I and the Silver King."'' This is one of the beat photoplay, in which the delightful little star has appeared, and is well worth seeing A well balanced cast and fine direction have emphasised the personal triumph of the star. The bill includes latest gazettes and the big Sunshine comedy, "The Heart SnatehCr." To-morrow's new bill presents Aurele Sydney in "The Screen Terror," a stirring play of the stock exchange and high finance.
