CALIFORNIA'S TREATMENT OF JAPS. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Received Nov. 9, 8.55 p.m. San Francisco, Nov. 8. Governor Stephens, of California, in a speech, said thfr anti-Japanese law will stand, and he declared that Japan will never go further than protesting. England and Australia haye both enforced laws similar to the California law, and Japan has done nothing. Governor Stephens' statement is regarded as a reply to the Federal State Department's recent announcement.— Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
