Christchurc'n, Last Nigh; There were six siarters for the M:d.ller.o:i Hurdle Handicap. G.wieone.l.-, Falsi aff, .-.nfl Jack Symons being evenly backed. Jack Symons joined War form in the lead a mile from heme, and raced with him to the i.tst hurdle, where be drew out to win comfortably from Falstaff and Gamecock,' the lastnamed finishing very fast after a poor exhibition of jumping. The fourteen starters for the Criterion Handicap represented a good class. Clean Sweep came out at the distance to win easily from Rude, who finished fast and lust cut Miss Mimic out of second money. Solfanello was one of tin- early pacemakers, bit: did not quite see it out. He was followed into the straight by Radial and Michaela, both of whom collapsed a lltle further i;r„ finishing nearly last. Hynlestra and Surteyor were going strongly at the business end. Rossini on the other hand, was slopping a bit, but the race will do him a power of good.

The Irwell for two-year-rihls, attracted a big field of twenty. The Hawk, who was second to Mertniu 'n the Wel.;OMie Stakes, was a warm favorite, and he won with ridiculous ease aftAr being in 'front all the way. Limelight finished well in second place well clear of Song Bird, who just lasted long enough to stall off a late challenge from Grotesque. A fine field of nine contested the Derby, the bracketed pair, Gas Bag and Humbug, were easily first choice with backers. Duo joined Royal Mac In the lead over a mile from home, and they ran together to the straight. Royal Mac then retired, and Duo stayed on well to win comfortably from Gas Bag and Veapucoi, while Delight finished fast, and just cut Winter Wind out of fourth pr.stion. It was a fine contest. Winter Wind was not ridden to the best advantage, or he would have troubled the. winner. For the Juvenile Plate, Rational had eight opponents, six of them being three-year-olds, and the others two-year-oids, his own age. The Northern youngster was backed to , a short price, and he never left the Issue in doubt, winning in brilliant style. Truthful just lasted long enough to get second from Sunny Conner and Weldone. The only regret was that Mermtn and Rational did not meet In this race. The field for the Metropolitan Handicap was made up of nine Cup candidates, with Bonnie Heather and Warlove as extras. Imaribbon, and Bonnie Heather were evenly backed. Imaribbon, Warlike, Bengeroop, and Warlove led Into the straight, where Nightratder, who had dropped back a little, came on again. He had Imaribbon beaten fifty yards from the post, but could not respond to a late run by Tenterfield, who won by a length. Bonnie Maid finished well In third place, Just clear of Bengeroop, Imaribbon, Warlove, jnd Bonnie Heather.

Ben Bolt and Foo Chow were the best backed of the eight who contested the Ashiey Handicap. Jazz and High Heels led to the straight, where the field closed up. Foo Chow looked a winner at the distance, but Ben Bolt gradually wore him down, and won by a neck, with Twinkle third, just clear of Adopted and High Heels. There were ten starters for the Epsom High-weight Handicap. 1 Cashmere tool: charge early, and was well clear, going well when well into the straight. Then Rnnnetier threw out a. challenge, and jnst got up to heat Cashmere on the post. Starl.md was third, but be was stopping. THIRD DAY'S WEIGHTS. Christcburcb, Last Night.
