SALE OF WHEAT.
CHANGE OF RULES URGED. By T»lejrsi>li.—l'ress Association Timaru, Nov. G. In view of the recent prosecution of a farmer and grain brokers for selling wheat over the Government price, the Timaru Farmers' Union to-day resolved to ask the Government amend the regulations regarding under grade wheat. The mover said the regulations were iniquitous. The farmer must sell such wheat to the brokers at a fixed price of 7s Id, and the broker must sell at not more than a penny profit, but the next purchaser may get as much as he cares to ask. Retailers are now selling at 10/- a bushel up to £2 2s a bag.
