FIVE PERSONS INJURED. By TeletTapli— Press Assn.—Copyrltfit. Dannevirkc, Nov. 4. A .serious motor accident occurred at Waipaliki last evening. A car driven liy John McLean, and containing .seven passengers, struck the end of the Kcreni bridge and landed upside down in the creek below. The occupants had a miraculous escape f,-om death, and five of them are now patients in the .Dannevirke hospital. Those injured wen-: Mrs. \V. .Smith, who was pinned under the cur for a considerable time and sustained a had scalp wound; Mrs. D. MclVth, a broken collarbone, bruise* and shock: .Mrs. I'earce. sprained wrists and bruises: Miss I'earce (four years), a fracture of Ihe base of the skull and other injuries; and .Miss Linton (! ! years), an arm broken and an injury to her ley. Two little children, one a baby, escaped practically unhurt. The driver sustained bruises, shock, and cut* about the face and head.
