The liad feeling which, since the 1917 strike, has existed between the Sydney coal buyers and the Port Jackson coal lumpers culminated in several fights, in which a number were iujured. The former union was the original body which de-registered as a result o£ the strike, and the Port Jackson union embraces returned soldiers and loyalists who worked during (iie strike. These latter claim that the trouble is the outcome of a scheme to displace the unionists.
The police restored peace and arrested five.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
