MINERS' STRIKE OFF.
MAJORITY AGAINST TERMS. BUT NOT REQUIRED KUMBER. By Ttlejrapl' —Presa Assn —Copyright. Received Nov. 4, 5.5 p.m. London, Nov. 3. The Yorkshire miners, by two to one. voted for the acceptance of the agreement. Lancashire were'five to one against, and South Wales nine to five against. , The executive met late this afternoon to receive full reports. Mr. Robert Smillie (the .miners' leader) pointed out that under the constitution of the Miners' Federation, a two-thirds majority was necessary for a continuance of the strike. The complete figures were: For the offer 338,045 Against 346,504 A long discussion followed, and a resolution was adopted that in view nf the above mentioned rule the strike would be declared off, and the men advised to resume work to-morrow, or as soon as possible.—Aus.-N.Z.
