WOMAN GRAVELY INJURED.
ARREST OF HER SON. OUTCOME OF A QUARREL. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, Last Night. Suffering from a large wound 011 the top of her head, Mrs. Norah Spearpoint was admitted to the Auckland hospital to-day from Henderson. She was unconscious when admitted, and is not exDcited to live. As a result of information received, the police proceeded to Henderson and found Mrs. Spearpoint lying on the floor of the kitchen. She was unconscious, with blood flowing from the wound in her head. Close to the body was a small axe and a broom, the blade of *ho a\e being smeared with blood. 'lho condition of the room indicated t'.;.U a struggle had taken place. An examination of the wound revealed the fact that the brain had beeil penetrated, and that the woman was in a most critical condition.
Th police arrested Frederick Arnold Spearpoint in. Connection with tii* affair. He is 23 years of age, and a son of the injured woman. From statements he has made it is believed he had a quarrel with his mother. ITe appeared in Court this afternoon charged with causing actual bodily harm, and was remanded.
