ARMISTICE DAY SILENCE. By Telegraph.—Press Assn Copyright. Sydney, Nov. 2. The anniversary of the signing of the armistice is to oe observed by religious services. The public are specially requested to cease work and observe ft silence for two minutes from eleven o'clock. WHEAT PRICE FIXED. Melbourne, Nov. 2. A conference of Premievs and representatives of the Commonwealth growers agreed to fix the nrice of wheat for local consumption at dTper bushel. The increase in the price of bread will probably be lid. QUEENSLAND LIQUOR POLL. Brisbane, Nov. 2. The latest liquor poll figures are: Continuance 135,358, prohibition 116,27!), State management 22,349. There are 05,000 votes to be counted. Mr. Toombs, State superintendent of the Strength of Empire movement, stated that to poll within 20,000 of carrying prohibition was equivalent to giving the liquor traders notice to quit. BOYCOTT OF VESSELS OPPOSED. Brisbane, Nov. 2. The waterside workers, by 013 votes to 340, opposed a boycott of oversea vessels.
LABOR PARTY'S PLATFORM.' Sydney, Nov. 2. The Australian Labor Party has prepared a special constitution and platform to be issued at the next Federal elections. It proposed to give the Commonwealth full sovereign rights and empower it to create any number of provincial legislatures as deemed necessary. Other proposals are for the abolition of the Senate, the High Court to be the final court of appeal, provision for initiative and referendum, the Commonwealth to take over all State debts and become sole collector of revenue.
