The acting-chairman (Mr. Griffiths) rtated that at the special meeting the I Hoard had endorsed the secretary's letter, and were unanimous that it was not objectionable. NEW APPOINTMENT^ It wag decided to call applications, closing in a month's time, by advertisement in New Plymouth and in the four centres for an overseer for the Pork, A sub-committee consisting of Messrs. (lollis (chairman), Griffiths, >Brooker, and Stainton was appointed to draw vf conditfns in c.iancction with the position A resolution was also carried as fol-lows-.—With regard to the payments ('Stalling £34 which Mr. Smith notified iu the Press that he has made for the htnefit of the Board, and which the Hoard has heard of for the first time, that he be informed that upon receiving particulars of the payments the Board Will be pleased to reimburse him. The management of the Park was left to the Grounds Committee in the meantime. CURATOR'S OFFER. ' •"" V" At the conclusion of his usual monthly report, Mr. Smith wrote :•—'l have now to respectfully request the Hoard to accept a month's good work and my salary, both for October, in lieu of any time when I may have been absent from the Park on a few occasions. When absent I went strictly with the view of honoring the Park, not of robbing it of;any time." The Board decided to write thanking Mr. Smith for his generous offer, but urging him to accept what was justly due to him. In the course of his report, Mr. Smith also asked the Board to accept a series . of photo negatives of early views and scene* in Pukokura Park. He said they should prove useful to the\ future historian alike of the Park and the town of New Plymouth, which had a great future heforfi it.
