JT is hereby notified for public information that it is proposed lo make inquiries during the recess with a view to revising the Customs Tariff during the session of 1921. All persons making contracts for the delivery of imported goods, either subject to duty or which may become subject to duty, should protect themselves either (1) by introducing therein a clause governing possible change of duty, or (2) by giving immediate notice where contracts are already in force or, where there are running contracts, that, in the event of alteration of, the'duty, the provisions of section 130 of the C'utoms Act, 1913, must apply. It is proposed to amend this section to cover alteration not only in the liability of goods to duty or the rate of duty, but also in the amount, of duty.
