ACCIDENT IN A MILL.
A BIG FLY WHEEL BREAKS. By Telegraph Press Aaan.—Copyright. Taumarunui, Last Night. Early on Saturday morning a serious accident occurred at Ellis and Burnand's mill at Mgnunui. The big fly wheel of the engine broke, and was stripped to the Imb, fragments being thrown in all directions, and every tiling in the line of the engine was ras;ed to tlio ground. A smoke stack nearest the engine was struck and telescoped, and another large twin cylinder engine was damaged. A piece of the flywheel travelled two hundred yards, cut its way through a stack of timber, and completely buried itself in the ground. Fortunately no one was injured. , The accident will be disastrous to the company and the employees, for these engines are very difficult to replace, and it is feared th( ; men will be thrown out of work for some considerable time unless the main engine can be run off !one cylinder.
