PORTION OF HAMILTON'S DESPATCH FOR THE TURNBULL LIBRARY. . ' By Telegraph.—Press Association. '' Wellington, Last Night. Observing some weeks ago a cabled statement Hint Sir lan Hamilton had presented a portion of the manuscript of his OalHpoli diary to the Mitchell Library, .Sydney, the Hon. W. H. Triggs, M.L.C., wrote to Sir lan Hamilton asking if he would confer a similar favor on the Turnbnll Library, Wellington. Sir lan Hamilton has now sent the original draft of a large portion of his second despatch on the Oallipoli campaign, together with an accompanying letter, in which ho says: "Nowadays, when so much must be done by short--hand and typing, it is by no means easy to meet your wish. However, I have dug out a bit of my second despatch, which might be some day interesting to the historical bookworm. The «av these things were done was, I first of all dictated (lie story and then corroded the typed sheets. The whole of the portion of the manuscript I send yon .\%a« done at (Jallipoli, and all marks, cutting* out, and writing are by my own band 1 ' Mr. Triggs has handed the m.uiuscript to the Minister of Internal Alfairs with a request that it be placed in the Turnbull Library.
