GENERAL ITEMS. By Telegraph.—Press Association Received Oct. 29, 5.5 p.m. Sydney, Oct. 29. The Collector of Customs stated that it is no longer necessary for natural born British subjects leaving Australia for New Zealand, or vice versa, to hold permits. Aliens who are naturalised British subjects must hold passports. The amateur status conference agreed that amateurs shall not lose their status by competition with or against professionals, in which no money prize is offered. It was also agreed that professionals in any game in which no money prize is offered may sit on governing bodies. Each decision was carried by 12 votes to 11, and now awaits endorsement by the individual sporting bodies.
