HOME KITCHEN GARDEN COMPETITION The Tarannki Agricultural Society are again offering prizes for the best kitchen gardens within tho borough of New Plymouth with an area under cultivation >f a quarter of an acre or under. This competition la open only to amateur Hardeners, to thoso who are engaged throughout tho day at their various trades and professions, and who simply grow the vegetables required for their household*. The, varieties of vegetables to he grown are only those which It is considered should bo gruwn in any well kept kitchen garden. The crops entered for competition will be visited during the month of November aid periodically as deemed necesasry, so as to have than under close observation dur'ns all stages of growth. Notes of the conditions otisting In e-ch garden will be carefully recorded and a full report published after the results of the competition hare been announced. It Is hoped that everybody who keeps a garden Willi enter for the competition, not alone with a view to securing a prize, but also with a view to obtaining some valuable information as to how to grow their crops to better advantage. Entry forms may be obtained from any of tho local seeds merchants or from tho secretary of tho Agricultural Society in Currle Street. Entries close on Saturday next, Oct, 30.
