DIVIDING SYRIA.
INTERESTS OF PALESTINE IGNORED. By Telegraph.—Press /,;».- CvrrirJlf Jerusalem, Oct. 2«. The press is complaining that France's sub-division cf Syria ignores the interests of Palestine. The greater part of Gallilee and the districts of Tyro and Siden are now part of the Lebanon State, the whole of the Esstern Jordan tableland is joined to Damascus and tho Biblical Gilead is now no-man's land. The Palestine that remains consists of a strip of territory corresponding to the Judea of the Roman Empire whoso economic resources are severely limited, and do not suffice for the needß of a healthy colonising people.—Aus.-N.Z.
