Those who did attend, however, spent a most enjoyable time, the arrangements previously made liy the committee being carried'out in full. During the evening, Messrs. K. McK. Morison and R. Masters, M.P, briefly addressed those present, referring particularly to the growth of this new Bowling Club. The duties of M.C'.'s were capably filled by Messrs. 0. Coleman and W. Robson, and excellent music was supplied by Mrs. Bianchi's orchestra. A splendid supper was served by the ladies.. The ,wind-up dance to be held in the Stanley Road School has been postponed until Tuesday evening, Nov. 2, as the services of Mrs. Bianchi's orchestra, could not be obtained for Wednesday night.
STRATFORD PATRIOTIC COMMITTEE October 27 The following is the report to be submitted to the annual meeting of tho Stratford Patriotic Committee on Friday: "Your committee have to report a year of useful work, but the wide activities of the committee as carried out in the past years are not now neecssarv Most of the work during the vear has been in the direction of attending to applications for assistance to perman-ently-disabled men under the scheme of the Taranaki Provincial War Relief Association for the relief of these men Ihe work of the committee will undoubtedly diminish, but it is essential that the committee's functions should continue until the T.P.W.R. Association ceases to operate. With very duties to carry out it will not be nec%sary to have, as in the past, a General committee, and the number of the executive committee could be reduced. "The general committee was not called together during the year, as the necessity for doing so did not i:r;se. '•For the year 28 meetings were held the members attending as "follows- w' t. The committee desire to thank the Joko committee and Diggers' Ball committee for donations made, the Stratford Loiincl for free use of office, and all Who assisted the committee during the past year.'' "
