TACTICS OF THE EXTREMISTS.. THE NEED FOR UNITY. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The annual meeting of the Employers' Association opened to-day. In the course of eulogistic references to the organising work carried out by Mt. W. E. Spencer (Auckland), various speakers were unanimous 'in the' opinion that the time had arrived when the employers of. the Dominion should rccognisi! ftlic necessity of facing.'the present industrial situation in a spirit of cooperaton and unity. There was no doubt that the employers of to-day were faced with the prospect of a serious challenge from the of labor, whose direct action Jaeties had undoubtedly made an impresVjon on the less oxtrentc sections. The'-extremists had recently sufl'erd a set brick'through the firm attitude adopted by the employers and the Government, but nevertheless the necessity for unity had never been greater in the history of the industry of the Dominion.
