Mr. W. Downie Stewart, though still considerably crippled as the result of war exposure, is (aays the Wellington Post) one of the most conscientious members of the House in his attendance' at sittings, and one 6i the keenest followers of the debates. It is not often that ho joins in he discussion, but when he does his remarks invariably bear ssion of careful thought and wide reading. Probably no other private member exhibits in hia speeches a more cosmopolitan acquaintance with political movements elsewhere.
