The ex-Archduke Leopold j'erdinand publishes in the Morgcnpost n new version of the death of the Archduke Rudolf of Austria. The Emperor urged him to 'break off an intrigue with the Baroness Vctscra. Rudolf agreed and went, to see her for the last time. Among the. guests at the Baroness' house were two of her relatives—brothers named Hector and Aristides Ualtazzi, the Former of whom had been engaged to the. Baroness. After dinner the men drank deeply, and a quarrel arose between the Baltazzis and Rudolf. Champagne bottles Hew across the table, shattering Rudolf's skull. At that moment the Baroness entered the dining room. One of the Balta/.zis fired a revolver at the Baroness, who fell dead beside Rudolf in the midst of a scene of blood and broken glass.
