DEATH OF MeSWINEY. OP BROODING DISASTERS By Telegraph.—PreM Am—Coprrljht. Received Oct. 26, 8.5 p.m. London, Oct. 25. Though there is no outward sign of trouble arising out of the death of Mcpwinev, Cork reports declare that a feeling of brooding disaster exists. Police an d military precautions are extensive. There is widespread mourning in Cork Public bodies adjourned, and amusements are shut down. The bodyguard volunteers propose to proceed to England to escort the remains. The Catholic Bishop of Southwark holds the requiem. The body lies in state and the public are permitted to view the bodv if order is guaranteed.—Aus.-N.Z. Cal e Assn.

THE LAST SCENES. HOW MeSWINEY DIED, Received Oct. 2<3, 8.5 p.m. London, Ocrt. 25. McSwiney never recovered consciousness, and died at 5.40 a.m. His toother and other relatives were present. The prison doctor summoned Father Dominic at 4.30, saying that McSwiney bad taken a bad turn. McSwiney was unconscious, and Father Dominic whispered prayers, but not getting a response recited prayers for the dying He retired while the doctors made a last effort to revive McSwiney by administering strychnine. The doctor told Father Dominic he had done everything, but McSwiney was beyond his aid! Father Dominic repeated prayers, and as he was finishing, McSwiney died.—Aus - N-Z. Cable Assn.
