In view of the unfavorable conditions, the attendance at the Ngaere Oardens was surprisingly good, over a thousand persons paying for admission. The management coped with the situation excellently, by providing large marquees for. the public, who seemqd to be quite satisfied and were able to enjoy (lie programme arranged for them. As, however, an attendance of 4000 had been catered for, the day will regult ill a considerable loss to Messrs Lester Bros.
