TARANAKI vbTES. RAILWAYS, BUILDINGS, AND ROADS The Estimates brought down in the House to-night give the following votes for Taranaki railways:— ■Mount Egmont branch, amount voted £IOOO. Opunake brand;, amount voted £20,000, expeuded £10,481. Stratford Main Trunk (east), amount voted £30,000, expended £37,705. Stratford Main Trunk (west), amount voted £20,000, expended £18,719. The total railway vote is £850,000. The estimates for police stations include the following: Hawera (offices, etc.), £500; Inglewood, £1000; Ohura, £1000; Rahotu, £IOOO, It is mentioned that £ISOO will be required for a police station at Moturoa, but no vote is made. The total vote for police stations is £94,395. A vote of £3OOO is made for additions to the Hawera post office: Fitzroy post office, £1350; Stratford post office £4000; Uri'.ti (purchase of property and alteration?) £l5O. The total postal and telegraph vote is £209,556. In the agricultural vo'e, which totals £30,512, a sum of £OOO is voted for an Inspector's residence at Ilawera. A vote for £ISOO is made for improvements to the Mokau River. Votes for roads in Taranaki totalling £80,704 are made.
